In 2005, Unima had hired an expert in  creole grammar, M. Joseph Sauveur, to start a research project on ATL (Automatic Treatment of the natural language) in order to evaluate the capacities of haitian creole in establishing some Text-Animation correspondences.

During our exploratory mission in South America, U|slic was much welcome in Bolivia. However, the Vice-Ministry to Decolonization, Félix Cardenas, was very surprised that such a project born by Haitians is not implemented in Haïti first. Where is the creole he said?

Of course, this is a political question, but also a technical one. Bolivia is a plural national State including 35 aboriginal communities with each their own language. A Bolivian law stipulates that each civil servant of the government must learn at least two aboriginal languages.

U|slic creole units could act as a reference for the creation of aboriginal units.

Unima is looking for responsible partners to implement U|slic in Haïti. That is why we have decided to participate in the next Colloquium organized by the Creole Academy so we can build on the role that this language could play in the institution of this new writing technology of universal representation and communication.
